Mrs. Kathleen Bone

Mrs. Bone earned her BS in Music Education from the University of Maryland. She also holds her Maryland State Teacher Certification. She has completed graduate courses in Dalcroze, Orff, & Kodaly at Towson State University. She has held SAA piano teacher training workshops, has done private piano study with Marilyn Neeley of the University of Maryland, and has done private piano study and pedagogy with Robert Bedford of West Chester State College. Since 1997, she has been the PreK through Grade 8 vocal music teacher at Cardinal Hickey Academy. Prior to teaching at CHA, she was the vocal music teacher for Calverton School in Huntingtown, Maryland from 1992-1997. From 1997 to 2013, she was the music director for full-stage Broadway productions at CHA. Since 1985, she has been had a Private Piano Studio for children and adults using Suzuki and traditional curriculum. She is the choir accompanist and organist for weekly Mass at CHA and a substitute accompanist and organist for other church settings. Since 1994, she has been a Piano Guild examiner and adjudicator for Maryland State High School Piano Exams. She has also taught a the college level, serving as an adjunct piano faculty at Catonsville Community College from 1992 to 1994 and worked at the Musical Arts Institute faculty at Catonsville Community College from 1990 to 1994. She has been the Vice President of the Anne Arundel Music Teachers Association and was the co-founder of “Gilded Cage” an ensemble devoted to recreating turn-of-the-century American music. Her performances have included Mayor’s Office of Cultural Events and Walters Art Gallery. She has extensive experience with Roman Catholic, Episcopal, and Presbyterian liturgies.
